Swift Racing Canada is the Canadian arm of a rowing shell manufacturer. They needed a website that did not look like every other Shopify store, and a catalogue that could handle configurable, freight-shipped sport equipment.
The brief was a storefront that matched the brand and gave Canadian buyers a way to browse, configure and inquire about the boats.
The Challenge
Rowing shells are not a normal ecommerce product. They are oversized, configurable, expensive, and almost always shipped by freight. The audience is technical and loyal to specific models, and the product pages had to carry the detail they look for.
Variant-heavy catalog with rigging, sizing, and finish options
Oversized freight that needed different logic from accessories
Brand fidelity in a niche sport with a discerning audience
Mobile-first browsing for athletes on the go
What I Built
Editorial product pages
Long-form spec pages for each shell and oar, designed to read like a catalog, not a generic Shopify template.
Variant-heavy ecommerce
Boats configured by size, rigging, and finish. Variants modelled to match the combinations the manufacturer offers.
Inventory and shipping logic
Oversized freight handled separately from accessories, with clear lead times shown on the product page itself.
Brand-true photography
Lifestyle and product imagery composited on a clean palette to keep the presentation consistent with the brand.
Speed and mobile first
Compressed media, lazy loading, and a layout tuned for athletes browsing on a phone between sessions.
Structured SEO
Title tags, meta descriptions and product schema set up for each shell model.

- ●Businesses whose customers are technical, loyal, and would notice a generic template
- ●Sports, equipment, or premium consumer brands that need editorial product pages, not a default theme
- ●Businesses and startups that need freight and shipping logic that an out-of-the-box Shopify install can't handle
